Some of you might be thinking, “WTF NADZ YOU WENT WITH HIS FAMILY WHEN YOU’RE NOT EVEN MARRIED TO HIM?” Yeap I did with the blessings of both my parents. If my parents were some other typical parents, they would probably not allow me to go even if I beg and cry just because it was something that is frown upon and blasphemous. My dad understands that it was for a good purpose and does not restrict me as long as I don’t do stupid things like drugs or something (lol). I never had curfews in my life and my parents are not the type that calls when it’s midnight and repeatedly ask for my current location. They trust me enough to allow me to do the things I want.  That or they know that I am too much of a coward to do things beyond my boundary like…eating sashimi rofl.

The past 2 weeks had been pretty intense. I had an argument with my mother and it was a living nightmare. I was afraid of going home every night, staying at the library day after day till it closes before making my way home. I’m very thankful to my family and friends for being there with me when I needed a listening ear. At the end of the day, all we really need is a hug from someone who genuinely cares.

The matter had been somewhat… resolved. She is at peace with me and given time, things will go back to ‘normal’. I recently talked to my dad (for me to talk to him is a rare occasion since he is always busy) and he gave me an advice that will probably be stuck with me for life. He said he knows I’ve been through hard times and there are more challenges to face through life. I should not give a shit about the bad things that people talk behind my back because it is my life and not theirs to take. Disregard all gossip (well, unless you called upon it yourself). He don’t ask anything from me and vice versa. I’ve stopped being financially dependent on my parents a long time ago. We are not a rich family and I don’t ask them to pay for my education or a fancy bag on my birthday for example. I honestly don’t crave for materialistic things because they are just temporary happiness many of us find the thrill in. My dad said he allows me as much freedom as I need to go and thrive in the things I believe in. At the end of the day, family will always be there for you. I know it’s cliche and all and I tried so hard not to cry in front of my dad. But behind closed doors, we all know we silently cry out hearts out.

Enough of all these sappiness and let’s move along to the KL trip. First, I would like to thank Ashraf’s parents, sister and relatives for being very accommodating to me. Never once was I treated like an outsider and I am forever ~grateful~

We went for lunch at this thai restaurant called Thai Sabye Sabye (for realz!) and the food was fantastic.. minus the huge spider suspending on the ceiling. Just close your eyes and pretend the spider is part of the restaurant’s interior design.

We did however ended up with loads of junk food. TORA TORA!

On our last day before the trip back to Singapore, Ashraf and I were famished from the lack of lunch but thankfully his parents got us something so awesome, I almost dance in the moving coach bus.

This trip was overall a fun one and it made me super happy. My only regret is not bringing a few people with me because it was certainly beneficial on so many levels. I was initially extremely skeptical on going but it was all worth it. I’m sacrificing my birthday celebration in November to attend another seminar in KL (it was THAT awesome). Besides, I do not want to be reminded that I am getting older by another year (the horror! ). You can ~HOLA!~ at me if you wanna follow, have a short vacation, be inspired and we can eat all the Subway and Baskin Robbins we want!

The ending of Upgrade!

I was impressed. The teachers put in a lot of effort in making it a success and the kids could really act, sing and dance. According to Ashraf, some of them were even better than Mediacorp artists. Not gonna lie there. It was really nice to see my colleagues dressed up for the occasion and the students putting on their best behavior for the night.

*coughs* Someone said I’ve been very pampered since he drives me around everywhere we go, taking leave on a weekday, being punctual at 8am and waiting patiently in the car so we could have breakfast together before he accompany me to my finger check-up at the hospital. Pretty impressive.

After the musical, we were like, hungry hungry hippos. Kian Ann joined us for dinner at Tampines and the food was pretty good.

On Sunday, I had an awesome sushi lunch with Fatin and Ili. By awesome, I meant eating my tame fried stuffs while my cousins gave me disapproving looks.

We ate our mango sorbet and basically stayed there till the buffet was over. There was this little Japanese  shop at Tanjong Pagar that sells cakes and biscuits that look so good, it’s mind blowing. Trust the Japanese for turning everything into instant kawaii.

My chocolate RinRin Ice Cheese Tart.

I think the name itself is epic enough for me to fork out 3 bucks for this. Fatin got the earl grey tea cheese tart and these are seriously one of the best tarts I have ever eaten in my life. Each of these tarts sits on a cookie base (which was so damn good) and it leaves your mouth with this incredible cheesecake-y aftertaste. Every part of it was worth the 3 bucks from the packaging to the cheese tarts themselves.

Damn, I want to go back and have some more.

Ili parted ways and the 2 of us went shopping for the rest of the day. We got some pretty nice discounted stuffs, went to see some dance competition, talked a lot and I dragged her to a crazy toy sale. I had loads of fun!

Ashraf’s birthday was on Tuesday and we both took a day off from irksome work to enjoy a day in Universal Studios (USS). IT IS MADE OF SO MUCH INCREDIBLE AWESOME SAUCE. I swear I was jumping up and down like a little girl and screaming with so much joy the entire day. He had to calm me down because I was literally bursting with happy cells. Entering Universal Studios is like instant happiness, just add water!

THESE THINGS WERE MASSIVE! The mummy ride is seriously one of the best rides I ever took.
It was so damn fun, we queued for it again before we went off.

Ashraf already went to USS a week before his birthday and he was telling me how scary the mummy ride was. I was scared to death to take this damn ride and we were holding each other’s hands so tight I couldn’t breathe. If people looked at us, they would like roll their eyes rofl. He was giving me a step-by-step guidance of what would happen next and I was screaming and screaming like a mofo in the rollercoaster ride. It was pitch dark and everybody else around me were screaming like shit when random mummy started popping out and our capsules started going backwards. SO.DAMN.FUN.

We had to rush back from USS for his birthday dinner with his family. It was at this quaint little place called Vintage Cafe and the food there was really nice with reasonable pricing.

I spared you guys with our couple photos and undesirable photos of me jumping up and down and posing like a tourist everywhere I go. Seriously though, I think everyone should go to Universal Studios at least once because it’s totally worth it! I had it in my mind for several days and it really suck that I had to return back to work the very next day. I would definitely LOVE to go back there again and take every single ride at least twice. It was like a mini one day holiday and we both had a marvelous time for his birthday. Just fun and crazy for an entire day accompanied with good food and happiness! Till then!

A week ago, my left hand got bandaged and it SUCK big time. I couldn’t flex or crack my left ring finger since last year and ignored it. Not being able to crack that one finger wasn’t that much of a big deal but I accidentally hit my hand on the wooden table at work and by the next day, it was in a permanent stationery position. Even simple hand movements were excruciatingly painful. I went to the clinic after work and all the doctor did was to press my finger down a couple of times (accompanied by me screaming like a mofo) and told me to go to A&E FML. That cost me 25 bucks WTF. I can also ask my sister to poke my finger and pay her 10 bucks.

The doctors in the hospital x-rayed, probed and tried to straighten my finger (again while I screamed like a mofo), put a splint, wrapped it up while I question the meaning of life because the pain was like WHAT IS THIS I DON’T EVEN FFFFFFFFFUUUU. He wanted to give me an injection to ease the pain of which I objected because YOU AIN’T PRICKING ME WITH THEM NEEDLES NAH UH YOU WON’T. Being the coward I am by refusing the injection, I had to endure the pain of my finger for more than 48 hours. It felt like broken bones I swear but the worst is adapting to do everything only with my right hand. Try conditioning and shampooing your hair with one hand.

I’m going back for another check-up on Friday. Hopefully, everything will be fine. I’ve taken out the bandage because it was annoying the mofo out of my hand but I left the splint on, making me look like I have a bionic finger.

Not too long ago, there was a company outing in Sentosa and I had a really fun time. There was so much crazy shit going on under the sun. Initially, I was upset because they separated Candy and I into different teams. HOW DARE THEY?! However, *dun dun dun*, through methods of undisclosed circumstances, we managed to be in the same team and all was good. OK LAR RUBBISH. We actually exchanged colour tag with another team. Not “methods of undisclosed circumstances” wtf LOLOLOL.

You really need a team of roxxors, gung ho, enthusiastic people to have fun and our team was ~major~ awesome. Candy, Rebecca (my partner at work) and I were freaking crazy, screaming all day and this insane Candy was throwing pails of water on people. At the end of the day, our team won (WOHOOOO!) and each of us got 30bucks worth of Kinokuniya vouchers (WOHOOOOOOOOx2!!).
